Treasury Holdings welcomes PwC to Spencer Dock
Saturday, 14 April 2007
Treasury Holdings, developers of Spencer Dock, is delighted to welcome Ireland’s largest professional services firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, as the first commercial tenant to locate in the area.
More than 1,600 PwC employees will be the first people to come to work at Spencer Dock next week as the company moves in as anchor tenant in a state-of-the-art new landmark seven-storey building on the Liffey. The new building enables PwC to bring employees together from three separate locations. Ultimately 6,000 people will work in offices at Spencer Dock.
The building provides 230,000 square feet of office space, and is fitted out to the high standard that will be typical of all commercial developments in Spencer Dock. Facilities for employees include a fully equipped gym and fitness centre, a food court, café and shop.
John Bruder, Chief Operating Officer of Treasury Holdings, said "We’ve been working closely with PwC from the beginning to ensure the company headquarters provides an office space that meets the needs of both employees and clients. This is a brand new tailored facility which provides the very best design in office layout and technology.
"PwC is the first commercial tenant to move in to Spencer Dock and we are nearing completion on other buildings, with Belgian bank Fortis due to relocate here in May. Spencer Dock is becoming a preferred location for major companies because it offers individualised space for their specific work demands."
PwC chose the location to bring staff from its George’s Quay, Ashford House and Wilton Place offices in Dublin into one location. It offers space for the large number of staff and also the ability to customise the building to work equally well for their employees and visiting clients.
Spencer Dock is the biggest and most ambitious urban regeneration project in Ireland’s history. A new train station strengthens the comprehensive public transport links to the area, which include DART and train links, bus and LUAS, making the area highly accessible for employees across the country. It is expected that up to 6,000 people will work in the area on completion, with an additional 5,000 residents.
Spencer Dock is also home to the National Conference Centre, which is shortly to commence construction, comprising of a 2,000-seat auditorium, two 450-seat multi-media halls, exhibition spaces, conference and meeting facilities. The site will also house a five star hotel and 2.5 acres of parkland.
