PricewaterhouseCoopers moves to Spencer Dock

Revenues of nearly €290 million were recorded for the year to the end of June 2006 by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Of this, €210 million in revenue was made in Ireland. This growth has led to the firm moving to One Spencer Dock at North "Wall Quay in Dublin. PwC is the first commercial tenant to locate in the area. This weekend sees 2,000 people relocating from the original offices at Wilton Place, George's Quay and Ashford House. Senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Donal O'Connor said: "This is a very exciting milestone for our firm. We have realised our overall objective to have a state-of-the-art building, in a great location, which will meet the needs of our clients and our people." The firm's new custom designed building, situated right on the waterfront, extends some 22,000 square metres over three blocks and nine floors. Facilities in the building include a food court style restaurant, fitness centre and state-of-the-art training and meeting rooms. The developer of the project is Treasury Holdings. Chief operating officer of Treasury Holdings, John Bruder said: "We've been working closely with PwC from the beginning to ensure the company headquarters provides an office space that meets the needs of both employees and clients. This is a brand new tailored facility which provides the very best design in office .layout and technology. "PwC is the first commercial tenant to move in to Spencer Dock and we are nearing completion on other buildings, with Belgian bank Fortis due to relocate here in May. Spencer Dock is becoming a preferred location for major companies" Over 25 media walls facilitate internal and external communications. SmartCards operate access control as well as an integrated printing system. The firm's goal is to make Spencer Dock a carbon neutral operation. It has used the relocation to intro- duce a number of new environmental initiatives including recycling points throughout the office and 'SmartPrinting', which will significantly reduce paper and energy consumption. PwC is operating two customised buses from three city centre connection points to Spencer Dock. This complements the public transport facilities including DART, LUAS and other mainline rail services. Ultimately, 6,000 people will work in offices at Spencer Dock with an additional 5,000 residents.
